EB16 Optical Pin & Socket Termini

TE Connectivity's (TE) EB16 Optical Pin-and-Socket Termini offer size 16 optical contacts available in single-mode (SM) and multimode (MM) versions. These termini are springless and do not require mating by a spring force. This feature greatly reduces wear and tear on the optical interface, particularly in high-mating, high-shock, and high-vibration applications. The EB16 components are also highly resistant to dirt and debris. The devices offer low sensitivity to thermal fluctuations and interface contamination and provide stable operation over the system's life (>1000 mating cycles). TE EB16 Optical Pin-and-Socket Termini are fit-form compliant with MIL-DTL-38999 Series I/III and MILSTD-1760 lanyard release (16AWG cavity). The parts are drop-in replacements for the MIL-PRF-29504/4/5 physical contact termini used in ruggedized circular connector systems. The EB6 series can also be used in a hybrid combination with power contacts. Applications include military ground and aviation, commercial aviation, space, and harsh industrial environments.
