FOD8320 Optoplanar® Gate Drive Optocouplers

onsemi FOD8320 High Noise Immunity Optoplanar® Gate Drive Optocouplers are advanced 2.5A output current gate drive optocouplers capable of driving medium power IGBT/MOSFETs. They each consist of an aluminum gallium arsenide (AlGaAs) LED optically coupled to an integrated circuit with a high-speed driver for push-pull MOSFET output stage. The FOD8320 optocouplers achieve reliable and high insulation voltage as well as high noise immunity, using onsemi's Optoplanar® packaging technology and optimized IC design. The devices, each housed in a wide body 5-pin small outline package, offer a compact footprint while allowing for a creepage and clearance distance greater than 10mm and 0.5mm internal insulation distance. FOD8320 optocouplers also provide an extended industrial temperature range (-40 to +100ºC) and are ideally suited for fast switching of power IGBTs and MOSFETs used in industrial inverter applications and high performance power systems. Now safety certified from VDE: DIN-EN/IEC60747-5-5.
