Analog Devices Inc. MAX20037EVKIT/MAX20038EVKIT Evaluation Kits demonstrate the MAX20037/38 Automotive Step-Down Converters. The MAX20037/38 Automotive High-Current Step-Down Converters with USB Protection/Host Charger Adapter Emulation combine a 3.5A automotive-grade step-down converter, USB host charger adapter emulator, and USB protection switches for automotive USB host applications.

The MAX20037EVKIT/MAX20038EVKIT Evaluation Kits are populated with the I2C-enabled MAX20037/38. The I2C interface allows for flexible configuration, detailed fault diagnostics, and access to the on-chip ADC that reports output voltage and current. The I2C features are easily accessed using the ADI command module (MINIQUSB) and the provided example GUI.

The ADI MAX20037EVKIT/MAX20038EVKIT Evaluation Kits are configured for 2.2MHz operation, and the included 3m USB cable allows for the demonstration of the cable compensation capability of the IC. The Kit comes with data-line tuning component pads populated with short circuits. Tuning components are usually unnecessary for the low-voltage, high-bandwidth data switches in the MAX20037/38 Automotive Step-Down Converters.
