Diodes Incorporated AL1788 AC/DC PFC Controller

Diodes Incorporated AL1788 AC/DC Power Factor Correction (PFC) Controller is designed to operate at Quasi-Resonant (QR) mode to reduce switching loss and increase efficiency. This AL1788 controller uses either buck or flyback topology to support high efficiency, low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), and high Power Factor (PF) for universal input. The AL1788 controller does not require any secondary feedback and optocoupler to save BOM cost as it is based on Primary Side Regulation (PSR) implementation. This AL1788 controller features low start-up current, low standby power, universal AC voltage input for Constant Voltage (CV) regulation, and valley detection for primary MOSFET. Typical applications include backlighting, street lamps, retrofit offline, general LED lighting, smart connected LED light bulbs, and power supplies.

Features

  • PSR implementation based on buck and flyback topology
